AL-NOOR FAMILY AND SOCIAL CONSULTANCY CENTER
We receive you, madam
The
Centre accepts women who are the victims of any sort of violence in its
location in Baghdad: Karada, Hay Al Wahda, Section 904, Str.8 opposite to
St. Joseph's Cathedral. The Centre opens five days a week (Saturday, Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm. We would like to
notify that the center's weekend is Friday and Sunday.

The woman visiting the centre will be
admitted into the reception by one of the volunteers, then the secretary
will fill in some forms with necessary personal information that makes
communication easy and enables the staff to pursue the client.
Afterwards
she will be directed to the psychological researcher to diagnose her case
whether it is a psychological, a social or a legal ( law ) problem. In case
of having a psychological problem, she will be attended to by the
psychological researcher. If it is a social problem it will be treated by
the social advisor. If the client is suffering from
a
psychological disease, she will be directed to the psychiatrist who fixes an
appointment to see her after being provided with an official letter by the
centre. If the case is legal, the lawyer will deal with it depending on an
official letter from the centre. If the problem is concerned with divorce
the expert in Church Law will investigate the case after getting an official
letter from the centre.
The
centre also includes a section for children who accompany their mothers.
They are received and looked after by a trained volunteer so as to let the
mother state her problem peacefully and without any interruption. This
section is well- equipped with different kind of toys, dish, seats, tables
and colored pencils so that the children may enjoy their time and practice
their hobbies in drawing and coloring.
