Opening the Center

The centre has opened its doors for women on July 21, 2005. The opening took place by Fr. Amir's guidance, the presence of His Excellency the French Ambassador, Bernard Bajolir, number of bishops, the Pontifical Nuncio's assistant and the Head of the department of the Christian communities and other minorities.

The basic staff and the volunteers were offered two sessions.

The first was held in Baghdad from 6-8 of May, 2005. the topic was " The Family Violence and Its Psychological and social influences on Woman". In order to cover all the aspects of family violence and abuse, many lectures were delivered.

The second session was held in Komani, a small village in the north of the country from 2-5 of June, 2005. This course was arranged by Sr. Alberteen the sacred Heart and Fr. Amir, the Dominican brother. The topics were "The Wounds that appear in different stages of life " , " The Inner Healing " and "The Spiritual Direction ".

All the talks were given by Sr. Sherine, a Dominican sister. After Each talk there was discussion and many workshops were arranged in between in which many cases were put forward for discussion.
